The advantages of underfloor heating are convincing not only in new builds. More and more owners are also opting for radiant heating systems when modernising older buildings, especially when a heating replacement is due. Targeted expansion of the product range
The range is offered under the brand name wegoklima Floor. It is a water-based system that can be used as required for heating and cooling. The system includes the usual components such as base insulation, system insulation, piping, manifolds, control technology and accessories. Over the past months, the range has been continuously optimised – for example with the 5-layer PE-RT DD heating pipe made of medium-density polyethylene with an internal oxygen barrier layer in accordance with DIN 4726. It offers very high strength and resistance to ageing, is resistant to stress cracking and insensitive to oxidation. The smooth surfaces prevent dirt deposits and ensure a constant flow rate.
For 90° deflection of 14–18 mm underfloor heating pipes, deflection clips made of 100% recyclable rigid plastic were added to the range. They function as part of the Snap-Lock system for damage-free insertion and secure fixing of the pipes.
Another recent addition for fast and efficient pipe installation is collated premium tacker staples made of impact-resistant polypropylene, compatible with all standard tacker tools.
Volker Reifferscheidt: “With components like these, we want to further drive wegoklima Floor in the market and make the system even more practical for users. High flexibility remains an important criterion for customers, which is reflected, among other things, in the many insulation thicknesses we offer that can be combined as required.”
Top advice, precise logistics
As important as product details and the interaction of components on the construction site are, at wego vti it is above all the service package that is intended to set the company apart from the competition. “At all locations with floor expertise, we can ensure qualified advice, and we win customers over with extensive stock levels and sophisticated delivery logistics,” explains Volker Reifferscheidt. The growing interest in the underfloor climate control market segment, including among screed layers, shows that the strategy is working. In some cases, there is direct cooperation with heating engineers who commission the screed layer to install the underfloor heating and then put the system into operation themselves. Such a setup also helps prevent potential warranty issues, giving the client clarity.
Successful prospects for the specialist trades
Even if the construction sector is currently weakening somewhat overall, the involvement of specialist trades in underfloor climate control generally promises good prospects. As heat pumps are considered a sensible and future-proof alternative to heating systems using fossil fuels, solutions with underfloor heating will continue to gain importance because they can be operated with low flow temperatures, allowing the heat pumps’ output to be used optimally.
