Our History:
Deeply Rooted in Craftsmanship
Building is our history – and our future. For over 70 years, we have stood by the side of craftsmen. From small beginnings, we have grown into a strong partner in the construction material trade. What has never changed: our commitment to being there for you – reliably, honestly, and as equals.
Through the ages:
From 1950 to today

1950
Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Golinski founds H. Golinski Isolierbaustoffe GmbH & Co. KG in Bremen and develops prefabricated plaster carriers. This makes ceiling plastering, among other things, easier and faster. Employees are hired, and a vehicle fleet is built up. Deliveries are still made by bicycle and three-wheeled delivery van. The company logo "hego" is created by combining the first two letters of his first and last name.

1963
Heinz Golinski developed the proprietary brand “hego Luftschichtplatte” for insulation in cavity wall masonry. Furthermore, one branch after another was established at almost regular intervals – with modern offices and warehouses.

1972
Establishment of the WKT Group with the founding of WKT Dämmstoffe GmbH & Co. Holding in Hanau.

1996
Acquisition of hego & WKT by Sheffield Insulation Group, SIG plc. based in Sheffield, UK. Integration of Vti into the then WKT after the bankruptcy of Krug AG Munich – the first two branches are Vti Munich and Vti Berlin.

2003
Merger of hego & WKT to Wego Systembaustoffe GmbH & Co. OHG with a joint headquarters in Hanau. In the next two years, the business expands to Austria and Luxembourg. In 2008, the company is renamed Wego Systembaustoffe GmbH.

2015
Expansion and addition to the location network through the Wego Express concept. The following year, the wego-shop.de webshop is opened.

2019
Wego and Vti have been operating under a new corporate design since June 3, 2019. The new logos and the new website www.wego-vti.de symbolize the intensive cooperation and a strengthening of market presence resulting from the joint appearance.

2023
wego and vti receive a fresh look and convey the return to former strength of both brands.

2024
Opening of the www.zusammenbauen.de wego vti online shop.
