Wego presents valuable prizes to the winning trio of screed layers
At the 74th German Skilled Trades Championships, held from 8 to 10 November 2025 at the Bavarian Construction Academy in Feuchtwangen, the top three finishers in the screed layer category were delighted to receive valuable prizes, presented by Wego Systembaustoffe GmbH as the competition’s main sponsor.
Participants in the screed competition had to complete five tasks:
- Creating the separating layer,
- Installing a screed on a separating layer,
- Retrofitting a movement joint,
- Priming, levelling and smoothing the substrate,
- Laying a vinyl floor covering
The gold medal in the screed layer category went to Tizian Leitschuh of ES.RO Fußbodenbau GmbH from Steinau an der Straße in Hesse. Silver went to Charles Jackson of Teppich und Fußbodenbau Warkuß GmbH in Marktredwitz (Bavaria). The bronze medal was secured by Matteo Galliera of Dischinger Fußbodenbau GmbH in Eschbach (Baden-Württemberg). All three were first honoured by the organising Zentralverband des Deutschen Baugewerbes (ZDB) for their outstanding achievements.
Martina Kohout, Category Manager for Flooring Systems at Wego Systembaustoffe GmbH, then presented the three winners with very special prizes:
Tizian Leitschuh received an education scholarship for the master craftsman course worth up to €5,000. Charles Jackson was pleased to receive a voucher for a site manager seminar donated by Chemotechnik Abstatt GmbH and presented by Volker Hummel. Matteo Galliera was able to accept an education voucher for the Bavarian Construction Academy worth up to €1,000.
As part of the award ceremony, Martina Kohout also expressed particular thanks to the examination committee team led by Florian Stauber from the Bauinnung in Nuremberg for their voluntary commitment throughout the competition.
