wego vti Kelsterbach - The New Dimension in the Building Material Trade
Anyone who visited the successful wego vti expert trade fair in February of this year in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt am Main is aware of the enormous scale of the new location, which the building material multi-specialist has now officially opened. In just eight months, the hall complex at Mönchhofallee 1, which was originally designed as an “Interior Finishing Trade Fair Center,” has become the largest wego vti branch in Germany in terms of product range and area.
Expressed in figures, this means: 16,850 m² of operating area, of which 10,000 m² alone are covered storage areas. 6,000 m² of open space, as well as 850 m² for office and seminar areas. The property, totaling over 30,000 m², is located in the Mönchhof industrial estate near Frankfurt Airport.
Efficient logistics for shorter delivery times
David Hellwig, Deputy Branch Manager, describes the advantages of the new location compared to the previous headquarters in Frankfurt: “The improved logistical location directly on the A3, A67, and A66 allows for fast delivery to all construction sites in the Rhine-Main area. By separating the flow of goods (customers, suppliers, and our own fleet), a fast and efficient flow of goods is guaranteed on our premises. With the increased storage space and the better layout of infrastructure and facilities, goods can be stored better and in larger quantities, so that our delivery capacity to the Frankfurt city area and approximately 100 km around the municipality increases.”
A total of 47 employees, including trainees, take care of the smooth running of daily business between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM daily.
Customized conversion according to customer requirements
The complex was built by the project developer Garbe Industrial GmbH & Co. KG, based in Hamburg. Following the expert trade fair, the warehouse, outdoor areas, and offices were structurally adapted precisely to the requirements of the specialist trade business and the wishes of professional customers. The roof area features a large-scale photovoltaic system for self-generated electricity. A sustainability manager regularly checks the building’s key figures on behalf of Garbe and optimizes them if necessary.
Intermediate storage for other locations in the region
“The range has three main focuses: dry lining, construction elements, and fire protection products,” explains David Hellwig. He will take over the branch management from Peter Lauer, who is retiring after more than 30 years, starting in January 2026. “We present doors and windows in a separate exhibition, and we were able to significantly expand the fire protection area here due to the larger capacities.” The latter is the reason why Kelsterbach can also fulfill a kind of intermediate storage function for the surrounding wego vti locations in Hanau, Viernheim, and Gießen. “We have short distances here, good transport links, and in this constellation, we achieve faster and higher product availability for our customers.” The necessary fleet includes several crane trucks, truck-mounted forklifts, tail-lift trucks, and Sprinter vehicles, which allow for a particularly fast and flexible delivery service.

24/7 pickup planned
On October 23, 2026, the official opening of the new location by the management of wego vti took place on the premises. Customers, interested parties, and suppliers were invited. For customers picking up goods, not only did a competition with attractive prizes start on the opening day, but also a breakfast campaign that invites customers to coffee and a tasty snack every Monday and Thursday from 7:30 AM. Furthermore, it is planned that customers will be able to pick up their goods around the clock every day of the week – for this purpose, special pickup containers with access codes will be set up.
The training program for specialist contractors, planned together with suppliers, will start soon with events on the subject of fire protection.
